Harry Potter 6 Already Pirated!

J.K. Rowling and her editor refused to deliver an electronic version of the book. But it took only twelve small hours for the “pirates” make the first e-book of the sixth tome of Harry Potter available on Internet. How? Thanks to an outstanding work from underground pirates.

During the first twenty-four hours: seven million copies in the United States; two million in the United Kingdom. With 250 000 copies every hour, the sales of the sixth book of the adventures of the young wizard Harry Potter are amazing.

Despite this largely anticipated and awaited success, author J.K. Rowling and her Bloomsbury editor did not want to launch electronic version of the book, undoubtedly by fear of hacking. Officially, it was because the market was too young and the ebook does not offer true comfort of reading.

But that does not seem to be the opinion of everyone.

Ebook Harry Potter 6

“In a joint-effort the pirates are now meeting in dedicated IRC channels with imaginative names such as #pottermania or #potterwork to spread the work of scanning and proofreading,” Colin Dustan says on MobileRead Networks. It has taken only twelve hours of joint-work for the entire ebook to be available on the Internet. Initially available mainly on Russian sites, the ebook (in pdf format) is now spreading at high speed on networks P2P.

But there is still more.

Teleread.org also announces that an audio version of Harry Potter 6 is already available. This claim seems genuine, since the version read by Jim Dale (narrator of the previous tome) is already in the form of a 510 Mb file.
